bennett freedom farm and yurts
Bennett Freedom Farm and Yurts is a veteran-owned, woman-powered business dedicated to creating unique and meaningful experiences for guests. Nestled in a serene, rural setting, the farm offers an authentic connection to nature and sustainable living. They specialize in farm-to-table practices, providing fresh, locally-grown foods and immersive activities that showcase the beauty and importance of agriculture. On the farm, Laurianne grows a variety of fruits and vegetables and produces products like jams, jellies, breads, gourmet marshmallows, spices and other savory and sweet treats.
Laurianne needed a logo for the farm and wanted a patriotic theme that reflected the “Veteran Owned, Woman Powered” tagline. She already had some brand colors and fonts in place. I produced a number of concepts that reflected patriotism and farming. I finally came up with the idea of something like “American Gothic”, but with a soldier and a woman with a pitchfork in silhouette. Laurianne really liked the hat on the woman’s silhouette and eventually we came up with this “Rosie-the-Riveter” inspired logo.
One of my logo iterations included some fruit, to reflect Laurianne’s home-made jams and jellies. She decided she wanted to use that version on her labels. We even made a version for the maple syrup she produces!
