A niche ice cream company that handcrafts small batches of artisanal ice cream daily, the Scoop Shoppe wanted to expand its reach to surrounding areas and through online ordering. The shop uses all organic ingredients free from artificial additives, preservatives, emulsifiers, and stabilizers. It also offers vegan and lactose-free options. The owners wanted a social media advertisement that effectively communicates their passion for their brand and their brand story. The audience included health-conscious families with young children or teenagers; busy, health-conscious adults who would appreciate being able to order online; as well as people who are vegan or who have dietary dairy restrictions. The design needed to be eye-catching, simple and with a clear call-to-action.
For this design I wanted to keep it simple with a clear focal point, limited text and a clear and prominent call-to-action button. I used the bright brand colors and a humorous photo that would appeal to the target audience. I made the call-to-action button large, with a contrasting color and put it at the top of the advertisement. The other important text regarding online ordering was placed in large font at the bottom of the ad and the remaining text was broken into small, easily readable chunks in the center near the photo. This communicates the fun nature of the ice cream shop while also giving the audience the information regarding online ordering, the vegan and lactose free varieties available as well as the lack of artificial ingredients.
