Musical Trio:

rien que sur un temps

A friend of mine in Québec is part of a musical trio that plays traditional music from Québec, Canada and Ireland. They perform at various venues around his area and he wanted a poster that would allow them to write-in the date, time and place. These would be placed in local shops and on notice boards.

I designed several versions for him and I am particularly fond of the one to the right. I spent a lot of time drawing the fiddle and accordion in Adobe Illustrator and creating a 3D effect on the fiddle to make it more realistic. I then added a background I found on Freepik. The script font at the top draws the eye to the name of the group and is wonderfully complemented by the Garamond typeface below. The lines in the background and the layering of elements all draw the eye to the poster and from top to bottom. A second version of the poster uses a large photo of the trio with their instruments and draws the eye through an inclined ribbon with the name of the group.
