“Team Osprey” (located in Delaware) offers solutions to nuisance nesting issues, repairs aging nesting platforms and installs new nesting platforms on private lands. Their slogan “Wingin’ It for the ‘spreys!” captures their flexibility and experience in creating harmony between people and ospreys. They wanted an eye-catching shirt that is visible when the volunteers are working in the marsh during fall and winter waterfowl hunting seasons. The Team Osprey shirt creates awareness among the public and pride in their team work.

One of the first graphic design projects I worked on when I first returned to school, this client already had a design in mind, with an osprey on the back flying straight at the viewer. On the front, she wanted an osprey platform, with the perch forming the “T” in “Team Osprey”. I used several reference photos to create the design and presented the client with a few different font options. This is the one she liked the best. Due to printing costs, we limited the design to one color.

The client later told me that some of her volunteers wouldn’t wear the shirt in the field because they liked it so much that they didn’t want it to get ruined!
